No, no question is truly silly. And Pokey's don't have a single hook among them that I know about. But they are pretty different looking and their palps also change dramitacally in shape so it is easy to know when they mature

Cheers mendi, i wasnt 100% sure about the hooks. I was sure mine was a male tho as hes a year old and massive. his palps arnt overly big tho ?! best sort him out a gal friend then ! thanks once again !

If his age and size are all you've got to go on, I wouldn't make any assumptions about gender just yet. The pedipalps in males don't look unusual until after the ultimate molt; yours should be big enough to not require too much (if any) magnification to sex via the molt.
