I currently have a G. rosea who slowly went from having a copper cephalothorax to it now being almost entirely black. So my question is is this normal or should I be worried?

When was the last molt?

On the cephlothorax, it is rare, but noted that tarantulas will wear off the "hair" if they're squeezing under abrasive obstacles. What sort of set up do you have? Hides?

its a mature male I thought he was in premolt however he has just taken to eating again so false alarm. as far as his container 10 gal. with a pot half buried in the sub and a water dish. very simple other than the loss of hair he seems otherwise healthy

When was his ultimate molt? As you probably know mature males dont live long.

One of the purposes of molting is to replace broken off setae, when molting stops, you'll notice them being lost. How long has it been?

He was mature when I got him and I have had him since June. Was my first T, and he is probably wild caught so he may just be on his last legs, unfortuantly :(
