I don't know of any pet shops in surrey, but if your friend wants to buy over the internet, then i here's a list of good dealers that i have used so far or have heard good things about. Although it is nice to actually see a tarantula when you buy one, especially if it is your first, the online dealers are excellent and will usually supply you with a far better deal than you would get in a pet shop, both in price and quality.

Of all of these i would definitelty recommend easyexotics as you can pay by credit card and they usually have a good selection of tarantulas and other inverts. If your friend is looking for a starter tarantula they have some Chillean roses in at the moment.
