LOL naughty boxelderbugs!

I found a boxelderbug, or more precisely it found me and spent about ten minutes walking around my hand apparently lapping something it like off it, however it began to focus on one spot and it was all dandy for another two minutes, then I felt a slight burning/stinging sensation that seemed to fluctuate in intensity as the bug became more focused on feeding, I soon removed the bug, as I had had enough and placed it on a fern. This is leading me to wonder if the "benign" insect may actually be slightly predatory or a scavenger. Here are the pics enjoy!

Thats totally crazy! The same thing happened to me the other day. We've got them all over the place, especially this time of year, and I was going to collect some, but they kept "tasting" me or whatever and I thought it was harmless at first except for this weird tingling feeling, so I gave it up for a while
