I noticed that there was hundreds of little white dots (pin sized) floating on the water in the water dish, this is the second time seeing them but a quick little cleaning of the dish and they dont come back for a few months. Just wondering if anyone has had this before and knows what it might be, could it be mold spores or something? not really an issue just weird..

if you have a picture, that would be helpful!

that being said, is your enclosure very moist? the white dots may be mites of some kind. i usually see them if the humidity in an enclosure hasn't been regulated well enough.

edit: do you see white dots anywhere else or just the water dish?

Its just the water dish, and they only show up every few months or so.
I only moisten the area around the dish and let it dry out before repeating. I unfortunately already cleaned it but if it happens again ill take pictures

It might be something in your water if you are using tap water. With it drying out over and over it would build up which explains you only song it one in a while.

It is probably some kind of mineral build up from the Water. I use nothing but Poland Spring bottled water. I don't use tap water and the like because of the chemicals. I don't drink it myself because of the chemicals. I also don't like Dasani and other brands that add minerals and such to the water.

I just want water. Plain water. It's so hard to find it though.

TL;DR - it's probably mineral build up.

You forget that chemicals that are (arguably) harmless to humans can be lethal to Tarantulas. Hair sprays, body lotions, air fresheners, etc.

Play it safe and use bottled water. But not just any bottled water. Like I said before lots of brands of bottled water add chemicals and crap to the water for taste or whatever.
Buy Poland Spring or some other brand that does not add that garbage to it.

It's water. No need for it to be "enhanced" with anything.

The OP mentioned pictures are unavailable so unfortunately we will have to just speculate on the cause.

No worries, we might still have unwrapped this mystery with it being either minerals or poop.

There's other threads identical to this with the culprit just being poop. Search for some and compare.
