One of the little Pirata wolf spiders that I decided to keep. I was feeding these to my Dolomedes but I liked this little guy too much. These spiders are tiny but they are fun to watch and only need the smallest of enclosures. Fun stuff.

betya that one grows up male. I've noticed with some true spids, the pedipalps are large one the males even as juvies, but then this is a guess since I have nothing to compare with ;)

I had some of these too, but they all tend to die easily. :( I don't think they like to much heat. But very cool spiders indeed and despite their size they still think they can kill you. :D They are sooo aggressive for their size. This is the funniest spider EVER! {D

I don't think it's the heat. well, indirectly yes. too much heat might dry out their container. I've noticed that the pirate spiders I've seen lived under rocks very close to the water line and their webbed homes are always moist and misty. so they need a lot of humidity :)

There aren't many unturned rocks in my path :D

I have noticed with these guys that their tubes actually lead under water too. I don't keep mine on open water like my dolomedes but his container is very moist with live moss in it. I think I am hooked on these pint sized little guys. Very interesting to watch.
