Hey guys.. I have been doing copious amounts of research to restart my collection, but I am having a lot of trouble finding any kind of thorough list giving adult sizes. I am looking for dwarfs only, that are around 2”, maybe 3” tops.

I know the Cyriocosmus group are generally within that size, but know there are more. If anyone could supply names and sizes, I am more than willing to do my own research. The hundreds of species of T’s is overwhelming and daunting to try and comb through.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide insight!

In Australia, there is a dwarf tarantula that grows to about 80mm. This is Coremiocnemis tropix (found in Far North Queensland.) As it's an Australian species, it would be extremely difficult to get hold of outside of it's native country.

The dwarfs I currently have are:
D. diamantinensis
N. Incei (olive form and gold form)
Pumpkin patch- haplopopus formosus (I have "large" but there's a "small" species too)
Don't own but know they're small:
-C. Elegans (and most of genus as mentioned)
-K. Brunnipes
- T. Seladonia
-Davus sp. Panama (bigger but the color is amazing)
- Euathlus genus (some of the old species have been moved but you probably could find new names if you search, many closer to 4" I think?)

I'm sure there could be old worlds, too- I'm only into new worlds.

I do know the Cyriocosmus’ are generally under 3” and K. Brunnipes & T. Seladonia as well. Please correct me if i’m wrong, but I believe D. diamantinensis, N. Incei, and Haplopopus Formosus are all about 4”? They are all beautiful, and I think I may get a D. diamantinensis anyway, but I am really trying to keep my group under 3”.

Avicularia minatrix
Neischnocolus sp. Panama
Heterothele species
Thank you! I forgot about Heterothele species. And I don’t know much about the other 2, so I will do my homework. I appreciate the help!

Mine are still slings and juvies, but I expect them to max out around 3". That was what I had found in my research, anyway. I won't be disappointed if they turn out larger, though.

N. Incei is a true dwarf, if they exceed 3” it won’t be by much, definitely not a 4” spider.
Hapalopus formosus large might hit 4” but my mature female is maybe 3.5” and then you can get the smaller species

Thank you, I didn’t realize N. Ince stayed that small. I haven’t been able to find any info on Hapalopus Formosus other than “large”.. people keep saying it comes in 2 sizes, but I haven’t seen anything on a smaller size.

Try searching Hapalopus sp. Colombia klein or "munchkin patch"
Apparently there is one other species, also a smaller one- the "lemon patch" Hapalopus triseriatus, but I've not seen it offered for sale so I suspect it's somewhat uncommon.

Kochiana brunipes is the best speices of dwarf Tarantula imo. Insanley hardy, get about 2 to 2.5 inches, and have only one speices in the genus which you know for a fact is pure(no confusions like Cyriocosmus or Hapalopus. On top easy to breed(male and female also look different matured)
