Hello,
My Linothele megatheloides had a fatal mismolt today. At 6:00am I thought it was strange because she was molting on her side and not in her web like normal. I gave some extra humidity and just left things alone.
At 4:00pm I checked and no progress had been made. I could see the new exeo. hardening. I tried for a rescue using a head lamp, a magnifier and micro tools. The spider was a mess. The legs seemed tangled. Legs from one side were folded on the otherside. The fangs also were damaged.
I have kept inverts since I was a kid and I bred t's in the 90s and true spiders in the early 10's. I have had hundreds of arachnids and only had a couple of mis molts and this is my only fatal mismolt.
I was wondering if anyone had any insight.
Thank you.
