So ive had this girl for about 4 months now and everyone who sees her seems to have a different thought on what Avic species she is. Ive gotten versicolor (lol) urticans, metallica and peruvian pinktoe. Is this genus really that messed up that people in the hobby cant even tell them apart anymore?

So Im curious to see everyones thoughts on her. Fire away

( this is not an ID thread I already know what she is, this is merely a post to show off how beautiful she is and see what other people think she is )

James, you have Avicularia "Peru purple" or whatever it's being pimped as nowadays. A. purpurea lacks the reddish setae on the opisthosoma and the purple is much more subdued.

I will concur w/ Zon, although she is Beautiful she is Not an A. Purpurea

I got her from an exotic animal show that comes to town a couple of times a year. She was sold to me as a peru purple. If this helps she is almost 6 inches

I bought an Avicularia sp peru purple last weekend (slling). Can't wait until she gets that big. Beautiful!
