In connection to below post:
I’d like to dedicate this post for everyone to be more watchful of his or her tarantula or tarantulas.

What is ONE thing in particular that you’ve noticed of your tarantula or tarantulas today?

Today, I’ve noticed that 0.0.1 Eupalaestrus campestratus that molted a couple of days ago, stretching. A very good indication of well molted tarantula, doing a proper recovery that’s needed.

I’ve always noticed how different species have different metabolic rates even at the same temps

Might be wishful more than watchful, but I'm hoping this might be the start of some pre-molt stretching.

She hasn't been up on the walls like that for a while, and is clearly due though she can't compete with the obesi-T up thread 😅.

I noticed my new girl a pamphobeteus sp hexa has been digging out her new burrow but instead of dumping it all in a heap in her water dish she has made a lovely looking path infront of her burrow and I must say I am happy she has settled after only being here 4 days and that she hasn't destroyed or buried anything 😆

Oh gosh. Asking a helicopter mom what she's noticed about the Ts?

My big AF chalcodes was stretching last week. She came to me quite thin and has fattened up some, but not at all as fat as I've seen other's get. Could she be entering a pre molt? She hasn't been eating as much lately. Issue is, she's not what I'd call chonky enough to molt. So I almost hope she doesn't attempt to.

My hamorii just molted last Thursday. He needs to hurry up and harden as he got thin.

I have not witnessed either of my new c versicolor slings drink. One hasn't webbed yet. Now the paranoia has begun about do I mist the walls? How often? This is why I was reluctant to get aboreals, yadda yadda.

My t albo has sort of burrowed. He's not quite fat enough to molt for my liking. Is he going to try to anyways?

One day I will chill out. I just have to trust that they know what they are doing. But definitely need to figure out the watering issue with the slings.

I've noticed my freshly molted C. versicolor scurrying back to it's web funnel every time I attempt to get a photo of it. C'mon dude you're beautiful, let me get just one good picture!

Mine didn't come out until I fed it a few times.

100% worth the wait 😍

Here it is absolutely convinced that the cricket is behind that leaf...

Few days ago I went to feed my freshly molted, ~2" Phormictopus sp dominican purple a mealworm (head crushed) about 5 days after its molt. It had been showing signs of hunger, being out and about and all. But when presented with the writhing mealworm, it decided to play with it rather than chomp down on it. Kicking it around and feeling it up, I assume it knew its fangs weren't ready, and decided to be patient; smart lil' thing. I removed the worm after it lost interest, gave another, three days later, and got a strong feeding response.

My M. robustum AF has been expanding her burrow and webbing around the entrance! Hopefully a sign of an upcoming molt.

P. cambridgei sling keeps tossing moss into the water dish and webbing over the whole thing. Looks very pleased with itself 😂

My G. iheringi seems to have stopped her incessant wandering now that I've rehoused her. :D
I’m currently prepping mines new enclosure for the same reason.

Other notes: I think my irminia may be near another molt as I haven’t seen her toes for awhile now.
Little lava girl had become more reclusive, staying in her cave, but I still see her legs! Can you?

Brachypelma albiceps, molted on 9/15/2023, is debating what to do with it’s old skin.

I watched my G. iheringi and N. coloratovillosus do the exact same grooming routine at the same time. It was very cool!

Today I noticed a bunch of my fossorial Ts being out on the surface for whatever reason...

This is actually a common trend with my fossorials

Tarantulas do stretch time to time. In majority of cases, it’s either within a time frame of pre molt or post molt. Though I’ve witnessed tarantulas do stretch out of blue as well, but I am sure it’s within behind reasons,

Now, this particular Poecilotheria metallica molted about three months ago, on 07/27/2023, and the one precious was on 8/22/2022. So it’s within a yearly molt cycle. Post molt feeding started 3 weeks after. Since then it ate 3 adult male dubia roaches so far. It’s abdomen is plump enough, yet it can’t already be preparing to molt.

I find it very interesting when things happen out of blue. I love to find reasons behind it, if not something close to it at least.

My adult A chalcodes has been hovering over her water dish for the past few days. And as of most recent, been sitting around with her legs close to her body. Not a DC per say, but it makes me nervous as I have no idea how old she is nor her normal winter behaviors.

Does she generally burrow? Slow down? Is she wanting extra moisture as it's monsoon season where she's from?

Our temps are still pretty high here in TX. But I have been keeping her water dish area more moist than normal. One morning she even had her water dish dragged to the center of her enclosure. And its a glass dish, so has some weight to it. She also hasn't been wall climbing at night like she used to.
But all I can do is observe. Kinda sux.

Only indoor temps matter I’ve given my t that buried the water dish two of them and she still managed to cover them both up with moss once. That may be an option though I wish we could force them toO drink .
