Leaves, wood and pesticides

Hello,
I am new here and to invert keeping, I am interested in getting millipedes so today, I went to the woods to collect dead oak leaves and wood. I am now worried about pesticides, so I have 2 questions. The first one is, are pesticide residues deadly to millipedes? If so, are there any signs of pesticides on the leaves/wood and are there ways to get around this.
Thanks,

Henry :)

Thanks! I hear a lot of people saying that they don't use wood or leaves without isopods or other inverts living on it. Is this because of similar reasons?

Pesticides are dangerous and you can't see them. The best bet is to find somewhere wild and isolated, away from gardens and parks.

Other critters living in the area is a good sign, but it's not a guarantee. Some are more resistant than others. Also, don't transplant those critters. Woodlice/isopods are the last thing you want living with your millipedes.

Thanks, do you think I should risk it and use the leaves and wood I collected or should I go and get more?
