Large Spider in Fort Myers, FL

I see my share of wolf spiders around here and when I caught this guys eyes in the reflection of my head lamp I thought he was gonna be just another average spider. However I was wrong! Never seen on like this, not sure what species it is but he/she was massive! Probably around 4inches in leg span.





Any Ideas on this species?

H'dude, Not certain because of a few lookalikes but it looks much like a rabid wolf spider which is fairly abundant here in nw La. Thanks for posting.

Rabidosa rabida

It's a Rabidosa rabida. R. punctulata is more common in South FL, so your R. rabida is a great find.

Beautiful R. rabida! I've got a female, and they are beautiful spiders!
