Quick question for folks. I was thinking/planning to make a post per species. I noticed that a few posts merged together. I assume this is because too close togehter or too many posts at the same time. That is fine if this is the case :) But i was thinking i could add photos to that post as time goes on, like a timeline for those spiders. Each post being 1 species. Though i noticed i do not have the edit option after a certain period of time. To the question, is the edit option period removed due to my being a newly signed up member, or is this the feature for everyone and i should just post new posts moving forward? Just curious :)

Harpactira pulchripes spiderling feeding timeline

From small hole in the ground, checking it out, grabbing and back to the hole. Process took about 40 seconds from dropping the Blatta lateralis into the enclosure. Fun times watching this newly added hole

Regarding your questions about posting, I believe the merging posts is just to try and compact threads where one user has multiple back-to-back posts, which may or may not be manually edited by a forum mod (not sure if this site has some autonomous moderating tools).

There's also a limit to all posts/replies where you can only upload 10 attachments/pics per post, so that could be why some of your pictures may or may not get merged together :) I'm not sure if that's a limit for everyone or just standard accounts though. For me I have a limit of 10.

Oh, and here's a link that explains all the various account types, such as the standard and "active" accounts etc, it explains what each type means, how you obtain it, and the various benefits/limits per type! It can show all the time limits for editing posts and replies per account type also:

Poecilotheria metallica, couple of them stayed out for pictures while killing. All 3 shed twice during July, now 3-4cm with legs. By far the fastest i have ever kept!

Harpactira pulchripes came out for a walk tonight. Ate yesterday, fed another cockroach tonight but uninterested. The light probably annoyed her.

Poecilotheria metallica shed yet again. Man these guys are fast!

EDIT above post: "Poecilotheria metallica, couple of them stayed out for pictures while killing. All 3 shed twice during July, now 3-4cm with legs. By far the fastest i have ever kept! "

Meant to say June, but cannot edit the above post now.

twice in June, now all 3 have molted in July.

Excited to see a few spiders haven't seen in a month or 2, sadly most blurred away with the flash. but got a snap of the Heteroscodra maculata grabbing a red runner roach before going under ground. One of my favourite spiders, happy to see it for the 30 seconds it was allowing!

Augacephalus junodi wiggled out for a feed. red runner prekilled was devourded as usual. Nice to see this skinny one hungry again.

Poecilotheria metallica after another molt. Will build new enclosures for them when we get back from vacation. I never thought they would grow this fast....

Havent seen any of the Ceratogyrus darlingi for months, just web. Decided to try and tong feed it for a photo. getting to comfortable, bit the roach and bolted right up the tongs. Getting to cocky with the camera, good reminder.

Looks to be a good 3+cm legspan now :) Looks easily double as when bought it.

Those are back to back photos. just to give an idea of speed. After last pic it was nearly at my hand, 30ish cm long tongs.

Wife getting into T pictures :) P. metallica well overdue for an enclosure upgrade, too small!

She even captured their beautiful heart shaped smile hah

Harpactira pulchripes feeding. This has become one of the more bold baboons i currently have.

Spotting some web around the roach near the mouth of its entrance, it eats out in the open like this sometimes.

P. metallica. Wasnt a big fan of the flash today

I am certainly more into old world species. But here we are, new arrivals. more for fun for the family than my personal interests. But 2 completely new to me are Bumba and dwarf tarantulas. I am actually quite thrilled with these. And also somewhat gitty about how baby GBB look so much like the Hapalopus sp. Kolumbien  Havin lots of fun, which is the whole point! Only not happy about needing to order some red runner roaches as these spiderlings are pretty small. I am also quite happy with the slow speeds of these guys, much different than my usual baboon protocols.

Acanthoscurria geniculata

Hapalopus sp. Kolumbien

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens

Bumba cabocla. I just received this guy last night and put his vial into his new enclosure. he elft and parked between the cross section of longan twigs i have in there and shed his skin. poor little guy, right at the moment of needing to molt he got crammed in a vial and shipped across the country. Didn't even notice the skin til pic #4, hes in the dark and chilling now.

Great additions. It's amazing to see the change off the C.cyaneopubescens.
Bumba cabocla has been renamed to Bumba horrida ... I asked my breeder and he said the real cabocla stays way smaller than the horrida so I don't know wat to make off that :D.
The A.geniculata is my favorite to grow up as a sling. I have 1.1.2 now and need a new baby sling :D.

Cheers! Thanks for he correction. I'm not up on my taxonomy clearly! Bumba are completely new for me, I enjoy how they sort resemble a normal spider and retain a tarantula look as well. Quite excited about it! I hadn't even heard of them until a couple weeks ago...

The genic sure are fun and make nice big spiders that can be seen. Pretty much the entire reason we got one :) never grown one up from this size before however, so it should be far more fun to watch :) I see why you like them so much!

Edit. All but the BUmba ate today :)

Some mediocre earthquake movement during feeding and watering allowed this enclosure mishap where it fell. Normally i dont disturb, but was genuinely worried the cork bark may have collapsed burrows, so i did remove the bark and gig up the substrate. call me an arse! end of the day, this guy was fine, probably just pissed i disturbed it more and that was it. But i havent seen it since i first got it, probably half a year ago. but looking good. nice weigh, WAY bigger and generally looking good for a spider unseen for so many months. All is right in the world.

Harpactira namaquensis

it took about 15 mins and it has a new tunnel under the re placed bark and is now comfortably out of sight again. stay tuned for 2025's next photo shoot hahaha.

for fun, when i first got it:
