Hi,

I have been watching a false widow spider grow from hatchling to juvenile. She is approximately 6-8 months old. She is still in the escape proof baby enclosure. I put a (likely infertile) egg in the enclosure. The egg is from 1 of my other False Widow spiders. When I looked in on her, she had moved the egg sac over to her favorite spot next to her.

I didn't expect this. Does anyone have any idea why she did this?

See photo.

Thank you. 20210416_212355.jpg

Fascinating. Have you looked up any peer reviewed articles on this behavior?

No, I don't know how. Could you please enlighten me? Thank you.
Not really. Was hoping you might. I don't personally have time to research peer reviews on all posts on here. I will stop all my daily activities when I need to research on of my animal's issues. This isn't meant to sound aggressive, just informative.
