Juvenile emperor covered in maggots. What could have happened?

The other scorpion wasn't covered and is still living so I e temporarily moved it into another tank. What could have happened here?

It seems like it died.
When that type of thing happens, all bets are off.
Decomposers win every time.

That is never fun. The times when we lose individuals in group housing and have no idea why one suddenly dies but the rest are doing just fine are probably the most frustrating.

We'll probably never really know why it died. Juvenile scorpions are quite fragile and even something like small changes in temps might have a fatal effect on them.

Wheres the tank and how is it covered? Seem strange that a fly would be able to get to it and lay eggs
Assuming it is a fly larvae
