Just thought of some thing

:? Do ants molt? It probably just happens when they are in there colonies and when they reach maturity thats when you see them out. Can anyone school me in this?

The larvae molt but mature ants do not. what you see is what you get.

Yea, though young colony's tend to have smaller workers though, less food smaller workers. Once they get older they will get bigger workers.

They have a "Complete metamorphosis" cycle, the larvae moult untill big enough then do a final moult into adult hood, from grubs to ants basically
