Just got a macro lense...

I'v just received my macro lenses in the post this morning, just been trying it out :)

Good stuff. But how many hairs did they kick onto the lense? How close did you get for those shots?

kick hairs? my spiders dont kick hairs, lol {D

but really, they didn't kick any, with my particular camera you can get upto 10cm away from the subject, I dont think i was quite that close, but the magnification on the lense is really good.

anyone else got some carapace shots to share, I quite like eye shots :) once I'v mastered my equipment I'll try to get in even closer :)

love the pics,i use a £130 fujifilm finepix A345 wich seems to do the job but need really good light for the best pics.
B.smithi adult female.with orange chelicerae.

another reason for getting the macro lenses was so I could take pictures of slings and actualy fill the frame with spider, rather than lots of substrate with a little spider in the middle of it.

took a few pics of my friends G.rosea and I'm quite happy with the rusults

not yet,ive spoke to a couple people and the general feeling is that its a regional variation but others from the same sac have turned out "normal" so im still not sure:? id like another though

well you know what youyve gotta do, Get breeding! and with a little in breeding of the slings youmay get a sustainable colour morph

yep u never know,just wish i could find a male with the same colouring.I have a normal colour B.smithi male coming soon so we will see from there.

Beautiful carapace shots!!!!!! The only lens I found available for my camera (Sony DSC-H5) was a "magnifying" lens. It only is beneficial outdoors or w/o flash, though.
