:? By next Saturday I should have 2 - Desert Stripedtail Scorpion (Vaejovis spinigerus). Right now I'm getting ready to set up their home for them. I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask.

1. I've got a nearly full bag of Jungle Mix is it ok to use that? or do I need to go out and buy sand? If Sand any certain kind?

2. I believe its ok to keep two of them together isn't it? If not I will have to do some rethinking.

Their home will be a 8 by 5 and 6 inch tall Critter Keeper. Thats big enough isn't it?

I live in South Dakota if that should somehow effect anything.

Hey Crashin,
Those scorps you'll be getting are from more arid areas. My usual substrate set-up is 50% play sand, 50% peat moss. If your Jungle Mix has any fertilizer or pesticides in it, that'll make it very bad for your scorps. Place a very shallow water dish, some hiding/scrape areas leave temps around 80-85F and you should be set. BTW, the nighttime temp can go down to the 60's.
Best..
Jim
