My P Audax has been known to groom his legs with his fangs, as most spiders do. But just now I saw something I'd never seen before. It really looks like he is pulling out silk with his pedipalps and threading it between his fangs, he's so methodical about it lol! Anyone else seen this?

my Phidippus audux actually did something pretty similar, the only difference is mine used his old webbing. The impression I got was that he was trying to hide his green chelicerae. The reason why I think this is because he did this while he was hunting a cricket and left it on while he hunted. soo....yeah

That’s crazy, I’ve heard a lot that jumping spiders are more intelligent than most spiders and have personalities so I don’t think it would be so far fetched for it to do that

They will bite their old web if it’s in the way.
Interesting in that some spiders possess this capability, some are capable of eating and digesting their webbing. some start out with this ability then lose it and some are entirely devoid of these abilities.
