jumping spider egg sac question

I have a female jumping spider (Phidippus johnsoni) that has laid 2 egg sacs now, and has eaten them both within 24 hours. She has been with at least two males so I'm assuming the eggs were viable. Any suggestions as to what I can do to prevent her from eating them if she lays a third egg sac?

Do jumping spiders care for their eggs at all? If I just take her out and put her in a new enclosure after she lays them, will the eggs be ok?

hmm. they don't care for them in the sense that a lot of tarantulas do... holding the sac, rotating it, etc... but typically when i find a jumper eggsac i find the jumper mom with it, for whatever that is worth

I've pulled sacs from the wild that hatched without the mom.

thanks. I may just try to re-house her if she lays another sac then. At least then the eggs would have a little chance.

My P. audax made an eggsack, which was built into her little web nest. I took it out and it hatched, but I had a hell of a time keeping the babies alive.
