Hello,

I recently added hissers (Gromphadorhina portentosa) to one of my Porcellio laevis cultures. I put in a shallow water dish for the roaches, and the next day found 3 isopods drowned in the dish. Is there any way to prevent this? Thanks!

Water crystals!
They can also get what they need from foods like carrots or squash.🙂

If you wanna still add water dishes, you can also add rocks in the dish to avoid them from drowning, if you ever don't have access to water crystals and such~
Isopods will find ways to die in water dishes no matter if there are rocks.

In my dart frog tanks I've had Isopods climb up the dirt that accumulates on the glass walls (from frogs climbing the glass), climb 6" up to the suspended water dishes, and down themselves.
