Isn't She Lovely

Saw this beautiful specimen this morning on an impressive 5ft orb web.

Also found this neat web constructed on a bush.

So right after i took these photos, my 3 year old walks through the orb web. I was so disappointed. Have been waiting for her to reconstruct. Then today, we get home from church and low and behold she has spun her web between my basil plants on our front walk! So excited to have her closer to us, hopefully we can "keep" her till fall/winter.

We tossed a moth into her new web. She subdued and wrapped it in seconds then settled down to eat it.
