Also your sub is wrong. Should never have wood chips in it. They are abrasive and could be toxic. Stick with coco fiber, or sterilized soil. Can also mix in vermiculite for texture and moisture retention. Not a mature male yet, post ventral pics here for sexing: https://arachnoboards.com/gallery/categories/epiandrous-fusillae-sexing-not-molts.9/add
Would also give it waaaaaaaaaaay more substrate and maybe a smaller enclosure. Can we get a pic of the full enclosure?
Now. It’s a risk to the tarantulas life. Thanks for the help. Should I change the sub now or give it a few days to settle down?
Nice one jumping on it so fast. A lot of products are misleading to make someone buy it.Ok, zero wood chips it’s all coconut substrate. It now has a good 6 inch plus of substrate. The bag of wood chips say tarantula on it? I figured it was safe. View attachment 377032 View attachment 377033
Yes it’s too large currently. Don’t add anything the tarantula can climb to a fatal height with or anything sharp. Is a 20 gal fish tank to big for it? I was going to get a few fake leaves and branches for it.
NOW ! If you wait until settled, then change, that's upsetting to the T OR it may die, your choice. Thanks for the help. Should I change the sub now or give it a few days to settle down?
Your tarantula is a female.I bought this Tlitlocatl albopilosus or curly haired tarantula. I was wondering if it’s a mature male or a juvenile. All the pet store said is he molted once that they View attachment 377009 View attachment 377010 View attachment 377011 know of. View attachment 377008
Hmmm why is it to young to sex? The size of this albo there is no need for a molt to sex this species. Also your sub is wrong. Should never have wood chips in it. They are abrasive and could be toxic. Still a sub adult. Too young to tell it's sex with just simple pics. As stated need a ventral shot or to sex it via it's molt.
How are you 100% sure without a ventral shot or a molt?Hmmm why is it to young to sex? The size of this albo there is no need for a molt to sex this species.
Let’s just say immature males don’t look like the posters specimen. Also second photo is of a ventral shot . And I am 100% sure is a female. This species is one of the easiest tarantulas to sex.How are you 100% sure without a ventral shot or a molt?
I disagree with you, at it's size it could still molt into a mature male. Only way to be sure is with a molt. But to each their own.
Ahhh my apologies. Those were put up after my original comment. Based on the one photo they had it was impossible to tell.Let’s just say immature males don’t look like the posters specimen. Also second photo is of a ventral shot .
