is it true that male mud daubers don't have a stinger?

I had a mud dauber that died because it got stuck in fake plant which i remove soon after and it had a stinger so i thought it was female now i think i have a male cuz i cant see one, is it a myth?

ALL male bees/wasps lack a stinger. The stinger is a modified ovipositor (egg laying organ) and is only possessed by females. That said, the stinger is not always readily apparent just by looking at the wasp. Some wasps have very tiny stingers that are difficult to see.
