Is Crassicus lamanai still seen in the hobby?

I'm getting back in after a 15 year break I took while raising up some great kids...

My wife's favorite species in our once extensive collection was a Belize Cinnamon that she got for free (and half dead) from a pet shop that was going under. It eventually became the beautiful T that's in my avatar picture. I would like to add another but do not see them listed anywhere. Since it's a sort of plain looking species that was most likely 100% w/c in the pet trade back then, I'm wondering if they are just not available anymore.

On a side note, I will probably be starting up again with my favorite genus, Brachypelma, and will try and post some updates again as I go. I used to be very active here....

I haven’t heard of it. The genera might have changed its name. I’d take a look on Google scholar and on the World Spider Catalogue if you can find a refernece to it

Thank you for the reply. I did a fairly thorough brush up before I posted and they still seem to be catalogued under the same scientific name. My guess (fear) is that they are no longer exported, and were not colorful/popular enough to get established.

It's also entirely possible that they are only available sporadically and/or seasonally and it's just not the best time of year to be looking. Fingers crossed...

Not seen them in years man. They are still a recognised species though, not as if they have been reassigned a new genus or anything.

Thanks to both of you. If I'm lucky enough to find a few, maybe I will spend a decade trying to breed them myself....

Haven't seen lamanai for a long time, not sure there any any still about. But there have since been a couple Mexican Crassicrus ssp. introduced into the hobby - you might be able to find them instead.

I haven't seen this particular species, but there are many similar species from the Crassicrus genus that I've seen offered recently through several online vendors.
