Hi I noticed this afternoon my tarantula was hanging by its leg due to I think being stuck on the mesh on the lid off the enclosure, I've got it out as it looks very week and put it in a container with damp kitchen roll, is there any advice anyone can give me.
Thanks

1.fill that cage up with enough dirt so it wont dangle like that again. 2. buy a proper cage for it. 3. replace that screen lid with an accrylic lid 4. get it back into its cage with a water dish instead of how you have it now. it will drop the leg if its damaged and no use then regrow a new one on its next molt. 5 research how to set a cage up correctly for your t

Hi I have it all set up correctly for the tarantula did my research with it, the only issue is the mesh lid, I have a exo terra enclosure, I have no issues with my other tarantulas I just noticed this one, the spider was still moving when I got it out I've stuck it in a container with damp kitchen roll hopefully it survives

Just because you don't have an issue with the other Ts, doesn't mean it can't happen. Almost every T keeper will tell you to replace mesh lids for this exact reason. I would also take his advice and place it back into its enclosure and look into replacing that lid.

I will be replacing the lids, I'm in the uk, do you know anywhere over here that sells the lids, thanks
Just to note the tarantula is an arboreal, but I'll be definitely changing the lids

Unfortunately I am unfamiliar with UK companies but one of the places I get Ts sells 3D printed replacement lids for exo terras. I would check sites that ship to the UK to see if they offer the same. There are videos on youtube for people to do it themselves.

Tarantula Cribs makes replacement lids for these enclosures.

There's a new company called ArachnoSpace.com that has partnered with Tarantula Cribs in the UK, so you might check them out.

The other option would be to buy a piece of acrylic, cut it to size, drill some holes in it and you've got a new lid.

It’s better off in its enclosure with its fangs in the water dish than a wet paper towel. If she’ll let you flip her over, put a drop of water on her mouth. It will take a long time for her to suck it up, so be patient.

Also you can make new lids for far cheaper than the jacked up prices of tarantula cribs. You really don’t even need power tools.

We’re do you find cheap acrylic? Everywhere I seen was expensive. Plus I forgot how to build the lid itself gotta split it in 3 pieces.

Yes exactly above. I’ve had lowes cut lots of it for me, and then at home you can put holes in it and whatnot. You can also have them cut glass for you which is waaaay cheaper than acrylic.

I would put her mouth in the water dish if she’ll let you. (Her lungs are in her abdomen.)
Also, I get sheets of acrylic on Amazon and drill and sand them myself.

Is there a version for a 10 gallon? It’s getting very expensive to buy acrylic sheets at Home Depot right now.
I've no clue, not bought a lid replacement in ages all my T's are in plastic tubs. Have a look & see what's available.

Don’t even need to go intense at the moment. Whatever plastic you have that is large enough: drill holes. Put rocks on it.
