Illegal Collection of Wildlife

How often do people get arrested for illegal collection of Tarantulas and other wildlife?

I was browsing the internet the other day and found this article

I found it interesting that one of the men arrested was registered to have a table at Repticon here last weekend. I don't know that I could trust doing business with people of this sort.

Although they were caught for reptiles and crabs, I suspect tarantulas are being taken just as quickly in other states.

Each individual state, county, city may have different rules regarding the collection of animals including exclusions, limits, permits,and species specific regulations. Best to do a s*^% load of homework before collecting.

Haven't heard of anyone I know getting caught yet but I know they got away with it for years with no problems. I do not support this though.
