If you could cross breed...

If it was possible to crossbreed tarantula species without the downsides i.e sterile, deformed etc and there was somehow a way to tell by looking what species it was crossed with so people couldn't cross breed two cheap species and produce an off spring that looks and acts like an expensive one, which two species would you cross breed.

Disclaimer: I'm not condoning cross breeding this is purely theoretical

Hybrids aren't sterile and don't come out with any deformities, plus it is possible to tell what species the hybrid was the result of.

They will only be fertile if you breed 2 very closely related sub species. Breeding 2 related species will cause infertility due to a difference in chromosomes

Not sticking to the rules.

A Hyllus diardi with a Heteroscodra maculata. I'd do a little sex wee.

Nope. Hybrids of good species can be fully fertile. Just look at Brachypelma hybrids. In animals, there are even known fertile hybrids of closely related genera.

Wish to have a sort of kinda 'black magic' power for manipulate DNA in few seconds and turn that chubby and fart lover French Bouledogue lovely head into a 'Baboon' Theraphosidae one: so we have a four legged, bulky dog with eight eyes and huge chelicerae, perfectly suitable for childrens.

Theraphosa stirmi x Euathlus sp. Red (or Homoeomma sp. Red)

Because who wouldn't want a mahoosive black and red spoder that was extremely docile/curious?

What your looking for is a Lasiodora difficilis ;)...
I have one (I say that but I suspect she's actually a misidentified LP, she was grey when I got her but moulted out black) and she's one of my more defensive Tarantulas (behind my unidentified Phormictopus and my B. hamorii), her first reaction to anything that isn't food is to throw up threat posture but then she just walks away.

When I got her (around 5" DLS)

Looks just like my difficilis did in your second pic. Mine was a sweetheart.. This is back in early 02 when I was still relatively new mind you but I would handle her all the time.. Never got a threat pose.. She used to kick hairs when I would first pick her but other than that she was great..

That's reassuring.

Compared to my LP she is a saint, she's never once kicked hairs but she does throw up the odd threat posture here and there (it seems kinda half-arsed and she walks away after though).

My LP is stupidly skittish, she randomly bolts and she kicks hairs like it's her one job in life (Lasiodora hairs are by far the worst I've dealt with so far).

T. blondi and Euathlus sp. red.

I would be going for giant, extremely docile tarantulas with easy husbandry, but maybe instead would get tiny tarantulas with the worst urticating hairs ever and difficult husbandry.

I was thinking with mine that, knowing my luck, I'd end up with a slow-growing mini stirmi with a poor appetite rather than the fast-growing E. sp. Red with an insane appetite that is really docile and gets as big as a small dog that I was hoping for:rofl:

Thanks, I think she's in premoult atm, the last 2 times I tried to feed her she's refused food (usually a telltale sign for a Lasiodora) and some of her hairs are starting to fall out (for a T that never kicks I take that as a sign) so hopefully some new pics of her looking bigger and badder soon.

I'd like Strimi x LP x P Met...A Nice huge stocky blue T that isn't reclusive/a pet hole, husbandry is easy and a garbage disposal!
