Feeding the scorpions this AM, Heterometrus are usually fed last and found this. Heterometrus longimanus #2 ready to duel w/h its old clothes. Lol!
Molted just about an hour ago, exuvium very moist and pliable, going to mount this one. Guessing its 2 3/4" now, the exuvium measured 2 3/8".
Such a nice shade of purple right after they molt. H.longimanus#2.jpg

how can you tell premolt?
I go by the expansion of the terglites on their body. Also, the lateral line above their legs will expand evenly. At least with Heterometrus species anyway. All but one are cb so I can rule out them being gravid since I have no communals.
