ID?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can ID this "little" bugger. Located in the Netherlands, size was about ~3 centimeters in length.
Sorry for the horrible pictures, I kinda got nervous when it started flying...

That is a horntail or woodwasp. Yours is a female. They don't sting - that pointy bit on the end is her ovipositor that she'll use to lay eggs in wood. The larvae feed on wood - and sometimes serve as hosts for the larvae of some of the giant ichneumon wasps (Megarhyssa).
