ID This Scorpion

Hi.

Its either Sotanochactas or Typlochactas. Dr. R. Mitchell did cave studies while at Texas Tech in the late 60s and early 70s noted by his publications for each genus. I believe he also taught arachnology during this time when Texas Tech had a great program with the likes of Oscar Francke and students like Dr. W.D. Sissom years later.

Definently a cave dweller, no pigment so the scorp probaly wouldn't fancy the sun too much and the lack of median eyes is quite a sight. I wonder if there was every extraocular sensory tests done on one of those... hopefully Dave chime in on this. :)
