Is this Javanimetrus (ex. Heterometrus cyaneus)?
It is very difficult to tell just from one medium resolution picture containing a lot of glare from a artificial light source.
Javanimetrus supposed to have a carapace with granules on the side but smooth on top.
Your scorpion looks pretty big in the picture, is it adult / final instar ?
Adult javanimetrus should have red or light brown telson.
Also, did you read page 307 of the latest Heterometrus revision of Prendini & Loria ?

It's a sub-adult. It is a a real H. spinifer (Malaysia). Yes, I've been reading the new revision. Thanks. The U.S. hobby needs some H. cyaneus. :)
