Found this small friend in my yard
Size...a few mm at most.



Any ideas?

Looks like one of the Conical Orb Weavers(Cyclosa sp., which are very common this time of year. These stay small, and often sit amonst a row of silk balls, insect remains, and whatever else they can incorporate along a strand of web, where they are just about invisable.

There are a few small orbs around this time of the year. They seem to come about after/during colder weather and rain. I will have to find this specie in its web now because I have not run into it ...or maybe I have and just didnt notice. :D
