I just started going to these 3 months ago and have gone from 1 T to 14 as of today. I added 3 more slings today. :D

1) Avicularia purpurea 1 in.
2) Lasiodora parahybana 1 1/2 in.
3) Psalmopeous irminia 1/2 in.

The shows are great for negotiating prices to be able to get all the T's you want and no shipping costs. I look forward to them every month now. It's also nice to be able to meet and talk to the breeders in person. I'll still order several online too if the prices are right, but if anyone hasn't been to a show near you try and go. {D

Ya shows are sweet even if you dont want to buy. I got 4 of my 5 t's at them from T- canada. Thats pretty fast to go from 1 t to 14. I have had t's for a year and im goign up one at a time (pretty much every three months at a show).

you just have to be careful at reptile shows... sometimes reptile dealers get a bunch of cheap/broken WC and sell them for a quick buck.... if a deal is too good to be true, it probably is =P

it's pretty easy to spot when this is happening, though... the spiders are banged up and skinny and usually are in tiny, dirty deli cups

I saw some of those dirty deli cups today actually. I buy from a guy named Mike Nelms at the show. It's the Dixie Reptile Show here in B'ham. He is a friend of Kelly Swifts, sure you've heard of him, so I trust him 100%. They are always well fed and captive bred. Couldn't be happier unless I got 'em for free!! :D

Sorry, that sounded like a freakin' advertisement, but I'm always a little giddy after getting new T's. Two have already eaten and I'll hand feed the purpurea later today.{D

Yea i always love going to reptile shows. I like it how you can pick out the T's you want and how you can negotiate prices. Congrats on your new T's.
