i got my P. antinious today, and i was happy until i saw this:



it's kind of a silvery white patch on her underside. what is it, and is it going to kill her?

Can you get a closer clearer picture? It's so far down that it might just be coloration. Does anything move around that area? Mites? Nematodes? I am just stabbing, without a clearer picture I don't think anyone can be of much help.

i was just concerned because it is my most monetarily valueable tarantula, and not a species one sees for sale often.

any ideas in terms of the sex?

Put up a clear ventral abdomen shot.

My h. gigas had the exact same thing in the same spot a while back. It wore off so I decided it must of been poo. Freaked me out but its gone now and she is fine.

it doesn't necessarily look like any sort of "infection" or "abrasion." it could very well be T poo.
