I don't have Lychas nigristernis, it's another species

I have been examining my Lychas species lately and with some help from others I can now say that Lychas nigristernis I have are most likely also Lychas tricarinatus. I'm usually not very into taxonomy but in this case I felt the 2 species were apart from the base color remarkably the same. I checked the keys from Kovariks Lychas revision and they all matched Lychas tricarinatus. I also send a specimen to him and he also confirmed they are Lychas tricarinatus.

I bought my 'Lychas nigristernis' in Germany and they originally came from someone in the Czech Republic.

Are this two males and are they color morphs? I still think the one on the bottom looks nicest

for lychas scutilus you can tell the age different by the color tone of the, the more reddish they r the younger!

Yes they are both males

1. adult male (5th instar)
2. 4th instar male

The pics were both taken with the same lightning 10 minutes apart
