I did not realize P. imperator was such a slow grower

I've had my 3rd instar P. imperator since June 7, and she hasn't molted yet. She's not currently in premolt, either, at this time. Her late brother did have a much better appetite than her, to be fair, so maybe he would have molted by now.

I am keeping her in the mid seventies, which I know is lower than recommended, however I do have a heat mat (ON THE SIDE, NOT THE BOTTOM), and she uses the hide on the far side of the enclosure from it. This isn't an advice thread or me complaining, I just didn't know they were such slow growers.

That's normal for an emperor scorpion. My H.Swammerdami 2i also hasn't molted yet after 3 months but now I think it's in premolt. Patience is key my friend :)

There are even slower growers.
One of my H troglodytes slings molted into i3 last month, it is a bit over 2 years old now.
A new born H troglodytes will take 10 years to reach adult size or final instar and then follow that up with another 10-15 years of very easy going adult life, no rush....
