I caught this spider two weeks ago while hiking along a mountain trail. They look like huntsman spiders to me. Are they communal? I noticed this whenever I would peel off some bark from dead trees there would be at least 2 of them sharing the hide. They move real fast, so I had no choice but to catch this one with my barehands. I know that is a bit risky since I can't even ID this one. Anyway, I just gambled ont the fact that we don't have highly venomous spiders here in the Philippines. Well, of course I may be mistaken. This spider has already molted since I got him. legspan is close to 2 inches in diameter. It's fun to watch him feed. I will probably get some more this weekend.
