How to tell if mature?

Hello,
How do i tell if a scorpion is sexually mature? I know for tarantulas the males have the enlarged pedipalps, but how do you check for female tarantulas and scorpions?
For scorpions is it by instar? I have an adult Heterometrus Petersii that was "wild caught", so i have no idea what instar she is. But she is a female.

Yes, you can tell by instar. Some species can reproduce at the second to last instar, others not until they reach the last/final instar.
You can put a male of same size in the enclosure and observe....
If the male approaches her, then he should be in for it and try to initiate the dance by grabbing her claws.
If the female lets a male grab her by the claws and joins the dance, then she's likely mature enough.
If the female is not yet mature enough, she will act defensive towards the male and there won't be any dance.
