Howdy! First post here. Love the boards!

My 1.5" G. Aureostriata completed its first moult since in my care (about 2 weeks), and I was wondering how to prepare the shed for sexing purposes on this forum... Do I need to rehydrate the shed or do anything special before I take the macro? It appears to me to be in pretty good shape (but ma ybe I'm just impressed, as I've never seen a shed before!)

Thanks for any info!

The rear of the shed where the abdomen is that skin needs to be opened up and laid flat. They area you want to photograph is between the upper pair of book lungs. If you look in the sexing section of this site you will see some great examples of what you should take a picture of.

I use my lens cleaner for rehydrating.
pure water sometimes won't soak in quick enough, plus the surfactants help, the small amouint of alcohol evaporates quickly and still leaves it moist enough to manipulate.

I do this using teasing needles and dissecting tweezers under a stereoscope at about 20X
