How to lower humidity

I have a tank ready for my S.polymorpha, which is arriving Wednesday. I have ecoearth and an inch of sand on top. The problem is that it is all damp, as this was intended for S.multidens. I don't know how to make all of the substrate dry. Any ideas on how to get it ready before my pede arrives? worse case scenario, I can put it in a temporary bin with sand in it.

Heat will only work with ventilation or a desiccant present. Otherwise you just recirculate the moisture. So blow the hot air in allowing it to vent away carrying the moisture with it.
