How small is too small for sexing?

hi all,

my gbb just sling just molted, and i got a very good exuvia. i put it under a magnifying glass (8x) and there is no flap to be seen. so now my questions is:

it this really another male? would be my third gbb male in a row...:wall:

or is it just too small yet to see anything? it's about 1.75"

One that size is difficult to sex unless you have a microscope. Some species I cant sex with naked eye until they reach a pretty decent size. If memory serves me correct, I couldnt sex that sp until nearly 3 inches or more! Keep in mind you may have better eagle eyes than I do

well, my magnifying glass makes it 8x the actual size, so i was hoping

i guess i'll just hav to wait another two molts or even more before being sure. but a third male of that species would really suck...

i think you might be able to see the epiadrous fusilae at that size

oh yeah, watch out i recently got poopshot right in the eyeball by an A.avic i was trying to vsex =P

I try to use one too but it hasnt helped me a whole lot, it sux being blind in one eye and not being able to see out of the other

It all depends on the species that you are trying to do and the spider it self when it wants to show off the stuff.
