That is a very beautiful snake. Very dark and coppery. Brown and earth tones are my favorite colors anyway.

Nicest thing about Male African House snakes is that they never get very big.
I have a red phase 8 year old male who is only about 24 inches.
I call him my mini python.

John, you must have a male as the females can get up to 4 ft and longer. They are very nice snakes and I'm thinking now of getting one myself. David, thanks for the pics, and John, let's see yours.

Yes, as I said it is a male. I had a brown female 36 inches I bred him to a couple of times but all the babies kinked in the first three months then she too develpoed kinks so I had to cull her from my stock.
For now he is just a cute little guy who loves rat pinks.
Sorry no pics at present.

Indeed John, you did say it was a male. My stupidity. That's what happens when you work graveyard shift with a bad cold. You get STUPID :wall:

Nice looking snake. I'm hoping to have better success in getting my hatchlings to start feeding this year. Last year only 3 out of 12. I'll get some pics of mine and post them here.

I saw several in east Africa while I was there, and never saw one over 30". I cant imagine what a beast a 4 foot one would be!

They are pretty neat snakes...

Hey David,

He's very cool looking. I forgot where I saw them but there were a bunch of different house snake morph pics and I think of all of them I liked the normal version the best!
