I was curious how often will a hottentotta hottentotta female reproduce? Will she continue to reproduce for the rest of her life or will she stop reproducing at a certain age or number of broods? 20200115_020816.jpg 20200115_020704.jpg

Sorry for hijacking your thread but was wondering how long does it take for the scorplings to mature and start having babies of their own?

All depends in the enclosure. The heat temperatures. The ventilation. The humidity. How often you feed them. How large of meals etc.....

About a year if all goes right

wow, that's fascinating info. I've heard some species of hottentotta are parthenogenic (reproduce without males mating with them)

It's the H. Hottentotta and H. Caboverdensis are the only Hottentottas that clone themselves. Other Hottentottas like H. Franzwerneri or Jayakari etc require normal mating.
