Is it as great a T as they say? <edit> Or does the blue form compare? Thanks

They are a great species, one of my favorites. Unfortunately they are hardly ever for sale and when they are they are expensive.

200%......if you can find one for sale in the U.S.

There's a couple of active breeding attempts I remember reading about some time ago.

No idea on current breeding projects in the U.S.

However, if you are fortunate enough to find a legitimate H. chilensis for sale and the price doesn't exceed a full tank of gas then buy it.

Man I missed the yellow ones for sale....😭

I'm at my limit for T's but I would squeeze that one in.

It really depends.

What makes a great tarantula though. Is it the size? Is it the color? Is it the way it webs around? Is it the high price tag that comes with it?

You poor guys over there and those inflated prices for T's compared to Europe. Still can't wrap my head around those. That said...yes, the species inquired about is absolutely worth it. Provided you like dwarf tarantulas that are 1/3 of your thumbnail as slings and take 10+ year to grow into the picture adult above. Speaking from experience. But aside that? Only tarantula species that I cannot describe in another term but "curious". They're the epitome of cute fluffballs.

Its not just ts...literally everything one wants to buy in the US has seen inflated prices.
Yeah a gallon of milk is 5$ where I’m at in the US. That was more shocking then gas prices to me. I can drive a little less…I can’t make my kids eat less. I’m fortunate but I really feel for people that aren’t as fortunate.

Oh, I hear you bud! Prices went up over here, too! But in terms of T's I was speaking generally - that isn't something new but a fact for years.

Yeah when researching prices, it's crazy how cheap things are in europe Tarantula wise vs the US.....totally crazy....but we have the whole free market system and everyone over here is always trying to strike it rich and supply and demand......things are a little different in the us vs europe and the uk, that is for sure.
