Does anyone have some ideas or (preferably) photos for Madagascar Hissing cockroach and/or millipede habitats? I want it to look super cool for my "play and display" critters (I've got many others, but they don't need to live with the "luxury" that I want for my "display" home.)
My guests are often so curious about my pets that they want to handle them, so I'd like to have a dazzling place to show them off! While keeping them healthy & comfortable, my #1 priority, of course!
Thank you!

(Even if it's not what you'd call a "show-stopper" Please share images of your habitats! Roaches, millis, or whatever other "creepy crawly" friends you've got!)

This is my P. Cam enclosure. It may not be worthy, but I have recently started to make my cages look nice. This is the best one so far ;) Could do something like this for roaches, as long as there is enough room in the back.

Oooooh... I'm new here, you are the 1st person to respond to me ever! & I am delighted, thank you. I've never even used a forum website (? probably not saying the right words!) So I'm not sure how any of this works, but thanks for helping me learn by responding! What is a P. Cam? I'm curious! New to our creepy crawly world of little friends as well! But I'd like to start using my roaches to let people know that "bugs" aren't always scary. Once I get a camera phone, I'm hopefully gunna take some awesome shots of my hissers & I together... I used to make money (very little, $1200/mo.) for modeling on instagram, but I decided to delete that account for safety reasons. So I hope to make another one where I can post some artsy pics of myself with my beautiful babies! I'm doing light research and finding that a colony of hissers is totally doable for a noob like me!

Thanks again, & nice habitat! I love that you shared it with me via photos!

I think it's awesome that you want to help people see these insects in a better light! Btw, a P. cam is a tarantula, full name Psalmopoeus Cambridgei. Got a 2-2.5" juvenile. Love to see the roaches, you'll fit in right at home here ;) Awesome to have you join the community, I'm sure more people will pipe up eventually.

I love Gromphadorhina portentosa (Madagascar hissing roaches), they're so sassy. I have a little colony in a sterlite tub. It's not a display viv though. 20160908_213248.jpg 20160908_213140.jpg

Here's a few of my displays for other critters though.

Your display "vivs(?)" ... short for vivariums (?) are so pretty... I love them!

I had 2 at one point, but I let my friends play with him/her, and they dropped the dear love of my life.... on pavement.... afterwards they also informed me that the handlers may have had gasoline on their hands. . . So now I'm down to one :( but I've ordered 4 more :) Know anything about breeding millipedes? I want to raise babies if it's not too difficult.

Welcome to the AB forum Bre. There are plenty of non-tarantula people here.

I STRONGLY suggest you read the Terms of Service (TOS) BEFORE posting again. Your post used a curse word with a character substitution. That is a TOS violation.

This is a family friendly forum, even children read this forum. Cursing and substituting characters for cursing as you did are TOS violations. The moderators will assign points to one's account or ban people at times for TOS violations.

Also, if you quote someone's words containing a TOS violation, you yourself are committing a TOS violation. I should know, that happened to me once. Hence the reason I didn't completely quote your sentence.;)

Lastly, if a user personally attacks someone or curses etc etc, and then goes back and edits his/her post to make it appear they did nothing wrong. Fear not, a record of everything you type is kept and viewed by the moderators/site owners. So they will see that: 1. Person attacked someone 2. Said person edited/deleted the offense to look innocent. 3. Even deleted, said person will be dealt with.

And if you see anyone that has broken to forum's rules feel free to hit the REPORT button.

Here the TOS to familiarize yourself

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry, how do I delete things? I know it'll still be recorded, but I want to take it down anyway! Thanks.

You can only edit a post within a certain time frame. After that time frame you cannot edit the post. I don't know the time frame. If you don't see the edit button at the bottom left of that particular post. Report yourself and explain.

Okay, thanks!
Is there any way to delete an entire thread?

Welcome to the boards Bre!

As for roaches, I only keep dubia, and only for feeders, so my roach set up isn't that spectacular. I take much more pride in our tarantula set ups however.
This one in particular:

As for the portentosa, here are some good examples I found for you:

Best of luck to you. Looking forward to seeing more of you around here!
