This rare, recently discovered spider does not have enough sightings and data on it's range and habitat but the general consensus is it should be put on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered.
The locations where this spider is found has a predominate human population of hunter-gatherers. It logically follows that they are quite capable of hunting Maxima into extinction for the high bounties that have been offered for specimens the world over.
So please consider, if you manage to come across any hard data on the range and locations of these spiders to please keep it to yourself.
