Help with tree bark for AFS

Can anyone identify these branches and bark I gathered? They arent sappy and they're dry. Werent near a pine tree.I want to make sure they're ok for my Scorpion. I live in West Virginia.

not sure what that species of tree is... looks like some kind of conifer. I don't see why these can't be used, I guess as long as they're thoroughly dried out and not carrying little creepy crawlies (mites or spores etc) they should be okay.
