I had an orb weaver move into my home late this fall and she produced an egg sac on a piece of my daughters clothing. I very gently removed it and put it onto a twig into a jar. They now hatched (which i wasn't sure if they would because I moved it in the first place. However, I have no idea how to feed them when they are the size of a pen tip. They've built thick webbing inside the jar so I could drop something into it but I live in minnesota and wild bugs are super difficult to find and I'm not sure what they're even big enough to eat. I've never kept this kind of spider and I don't want them all to die, please help with any advice you can. I would just put them outside but it's freezing and snowy. The first pictures are of mama and then the last is the jar of babies. Thanks anyone who can help me save these babies! 20240924_000427.jpg 20240924_000822.jpg 17323719608825258191262089422700.jpg 17323722667671094390421520650283.jpg

You can release fruit flies in the jar so they can start feeding, but it would be best to separate them in deli cups eventually.

I'm having troubles with finding fruit flies locally, it will be days before I can get them because I cannot afford overnight shipping. The webbing looks pretty thick do you think I could drop a mealworm in there?
