Mesobuthus sp.? I'm not sure whether Mesobuthus gibbosus can occur in Cyprus. Probably Mesobuthus cyprius since they are native to Cyprus.

You can see the lyre on the Carapax...it speaks for Genus Buthus.

Mesobuthus cyprius
is more gracile. I know because i had them:

I was last year on Cyprus on the greek side but didnt found any scorpion :-(. Where did your cousin find this one?

About venomous i cant say much. European scorpions are not so venomous like African but...better be carefull

Buthus kunti and Mesobuthus cyprius are endemic!
